Next Life to the Max Booksigning at Border’s Mill Ave., 11 am, Saturday, October 4

Thursday, September 11th, 2008

If you missed the first booksigning event at Changing Hands, now you will have another chance to see what everyone is howling about. Did you know that Educators’ Appreciation Weekend is coming up? Borders stores nationwide will honor local educators for their commitment to spreading knowledge and encouraging life-long learning during Educator Appreciation Weekend, Friday-Sunday, October 3- 5.

In honor of Educators’ Appreciation Weekend, I will be speaking at Borders Bookstore on Mill Avenue on Saturday, October 4th at 11:00am about one of my family’s most treasured teachers–my Airedale Terrier, Max!

Find how Max taught my family how to live each day from the heart and why we should honor all of life’s teachers–even if it’s the one at the end of the leash. I will be sharing some of my favorite “Max tales”–stories about living life to the fullest from my book Life to the Max. Once again, book purchasers will receive a free silver/pewter pet tag that says “Live Life to the Max” and ten percent of the book price will be donated to Airedale Rescue.

The event would not be complete without Max’s sisters, Amber and Krissy, beside me, behaving wonderfully (fingers crossed!), as I speak about the many things I have learned from the “pet teachers” in my life. This will be an event you and your family will not want miss! Hope to see you at Borders, 699 South Mill Avenue Tempe, AZ 85281 on Saturday, October 4th at 11:00am!

Living Life to the Max As A Publicity Hound

Thursday, August 28th, 2008

Did you see the great coverage that my mom and I got in the Arizona Republic for the booksigning event at Changing Hands? I must admit, I am a little jealous that my sisters, Amber and Krissy, got a huge picture in the community section of the Arizona Republic!

If you didn’t get the newspaper, you should check out the article and photo of my mom and my crazy sisters online at azcentral.com. There are even several of my Maxims in the article! I can’t wait to get even more press for mom’s future booksigning events.

Life to the Max Booksigning at Changing Hands is Standing Room Only

Saturday, August 16th, 2008

Did you see my mom at the Changing Hands booksigning on Saturday, August 9th? If you missed it, she ROCKED! My little sister, Amber, was there along with the wild child, Krissy and guess what? They were both angels. Guess that’s because Dad and Andrew kept them on a short leash, so to speak.

Anyway, the turnout was fantastic for my mom’s talk and her special guests, Dr. Wight from McClintock Animal Care Center, Elizabeth Vaughan from Fairwinds Pet Memorial Services and Patricia Zebuth from Southwest Airedale Rescue. There was a standing room only and even a few other Airedales were in attendance. To see a slide show of the day at Changing Hands, click on the play button above and watch for another video of the whole talk that we will be posting shortly on YouTube.

Also if you haven’t already, sign up for feeds from this blog, so you’ll get notified when there are new posts. We are going to be having some other booksignings coming up soon, so stay tuned and thank you to all of you who have been doing your part to support rescue and us!

Booksigning at Changing Hands August 9th

Thursday, July 24th, 2008

We are very excited about our upcoming booksigning at Changing Hands Bookstore on Saturday, August 9th at 11 am. Max’s little sister, Amber, our 7-year-old Airedale Terrier, will accompany me to the event which is designed for the whole family. In addition, to telling a little a bit about Airedale Terriers, I’ll be sharing some of my favorite Max tales about living life to the fullest and reading from my book. People who buy my book during this event will be helping to support rescue because 10% of the book price will be donated to Southwest Airedale Terrier Rescue. In addition, with every book purchase during this event, buyers will receive a free pewter pet tag that says, “Live Life to the MAX.” This pet tag has a retail value of $4.50, so this is really a good deal. If you know a dog lover who has a birthday coming up or you know someone who is suffering a pet loss, this is a great time to stock up on these books, get a little something extra to boot and support a worthy cause.

If you’ve never been to Changing Hands, you’re really in for a treat. This store is a treasure with its extensive stock of bestseller and hard-to-find books, unique gifts and lots of interesting activities. At a time when many independent bookstores have been closing their doors, Changing Hands is showing everyone-including the big chains-how to make bookstores an exciting and successful venue. In fact, they were named Publisher Weekly’s 2007 Bookseller of the Year.

I hope you will join Amber and me with a Max celebrity list of guests including Dr. Tracy Wight of McClintock Animal Care Center, Shelly Ambrose of Shelly’s Pet Grooming, Elizabeth Vaughan of Fairwinds Pet Memorial Services, Patricia Zebuth of Southwest Airedale Terrier Rescue and Terry Rohrs, NICE Creative graphic designer and Life to the Max illustrator. Changing Hands is located at 6428 S McClintock Dr., Tempe, AZ 85283 which is at the intersection of McClintock and Guadalupe. Their phone number is 480-730-0205. See you there August 9th at 11 a.m.!
