A lot of people who are not familiar with Airedales often ask what the breed is like. I think Chip Brown, a national magazine writer, gave the most apt description in a 1990 article for Connoisseur magazine in which he said Airedales have “style, brains, and clownish wit– everything one looks for in a spouse”

Even so, many people still do not know what Airedales are like until they see them in action. Joyce Miller, a friend of mine, an Airedale enthusiast who has worked as a teacher, writer and researcher for 40 years and who maintains a dog educational site called Dear Jubilee, sent me this YouTube video of her Airedales, Kate & Neisha.
