Another Rescued Airedale Gives Life to the Max A Great Review
January 9th, 2009 by MaxWhew! It’s been really hard to dig out after the holidays, so I’ve been dogging my blog. But no more! It’s a new year and it’s just gotta be great!
To start the year off on an especially positive note, we are particularly honored to share this review we just received from Bert Krause, who is a writer for his own blog, Bert’s Bytes on the Southwest Airedale Terrier Rescue website. Here’s his canine point of view:
Bert Krause stops to smell the flowers and share his thoughts on living Life to the MAX!
Hi, my name is Bert and I’m a rescued Airedale just like Max. While I didn’t technically read this book, my Dad read it to me and we both enjoyed it… to the Max.
Life to the Max is basically the story of Max’s life with his forever family as told by Max himself in his unique Airedale style. He shares with you the major waypoints in his life, both happy and sad. After each episode, he states the lesson (maxim) that he derived from the experience. There are twenty such maxims in this book. My favorite is #14. (Never miss a chance to tell those closest to you that you love them.)
Some reviewers might call this a children’s book, and it is indeed a wonderful story to read to your children that can be used to teach them some very valuable lessons of life. Lessons like: who or what really matters in your life; dealing with the loss of a pet, or a family member for that matter; giving the gift of love is the very best thing you can ever do.
So, buy this book and read it to your kids or read it to your parents. Everyone will enjoy the story and come away with a better outlook on life and how to live it…To the Max. I heartily give it four paws up. It doesn’t get any better than that.
And if you really want to give your kids an extra special treat, get them an Airedale from Southwest Airedale Terrier Rescue (SWAT). You will both be glad you did. Life is merrier with an Airedale terrier.

Bert has beautiful flowers in his backyard domain! I can imagine sitting amongst them and reading “Life to the Max” with my favorite canine–and human–companions!
